Frequently asked questions

How does the shield work?

You pick the apps you want to shield and a daily call goal. Until you reach that goal, the apps you chose are shielded using Apple's Screen Time. Hit your goal and the shield lifts automatically. It's a focus aid you set for yourself — you stay in control of your settings the whole time.

Why does iOS ask me to confirm every call?

That confirmation prompt comes from iOS itself whenever an app places a call, and it can't be turned off. Just tap Call and your call goes through as normal.

Why didn't my call count?

A call counts toward your goal once it has connected and ended. If a call rang out, was declined, or never connected, it won't count. Re-open Dialed In after your call — it reconciles recent calls when it returns to the foreground.

Can I add leads without typing them in?

Yes. You can scan a printed lead sheet with your camera, import people from your iPhone Contacts, or add leads by hand. Duplicates are caught automatically on import.

Where is my data stored?

Entirely on your device. There are no accounts, servers, or logins, and we never see your leads, calls, or settings. See our Privacy Policy for details.

How do I change my goal or shielded apps?

Open Settings inside the app to change your daily goal, change which apps are shielded, or reset the day.

How do I delete my data?

Delete leads and history within the app, or remove the app from your iPhone — that erases all of its stored data.

The shield won't lift / a feature isn't working

Make sure Screen Time permission is granted in Settings › Screen Time, then re-open Dialed In so it can re-evaluate your progress. If it still doesn't behave as expected, email us the details and we'll dig in.
